Back seat doesn't fit??
« on: April 25, 2007 - 09:33:13 AM »
The back seat has a large gap underneath it on either side of the hump.  I can fit my hand between the floor and the seat but the latch mechanism does engage although loosely.  It's okay at the hump and fits well otherwise . Any ideas on what is going on here?  Is this normal?

Are you sure this is a Cuda seat you are trying to put in? I really have no idea after that.  :clueless:

I might have been serious tweaked at some time in its life. Check the frame and make sure it isn't bent out of shape. The frame wire should be flat with clean angle at the bends.

I'll stand by previous statement in that you have the wrong seat.  :dunno:

I bought the car like this so it's hard to say.  If all e-body back seats are the same then it's hard to explain as it fits otherwise.

Looks like something is bent.  Does your seat frame look like this one?  My thought is that someone pulled up before they pushed the seat back and bent the part that clips to the floor.

That is what my '73 Challey looks like and I'm sure it is correct, possilbe the bar on the seat is bent some holding it up a little.

I got the seat out.  Here is a pic of the seat underside.  It doesn't look "modified" to me.  Perhaps there is supposed to be a gap?
