    Hello all, I'd like to introduce myself.  My name is Tony Garcia and I live in Pflugerville, Texas (just outside of Austin)  I have always been a Corvette guy.  I've owned several, a 99 FRC, 94 Coupe and 71 Coupe.  The only one I still have is the 71 and I've always wanted a Challenger.  I found my 73 on the Dallas Craigslist and decided to go for it.  I sold my 94 vette and bought her.  She is a 340 4-speed.  She has a beautiful interior and sounds downright mean.  I need to get her Texas legal though.  I don't think any of my gauges work.  I have already ordered lenses for the turning lights and a water bottle pump, but I would like to know what would be the best option for getting the gauges working?  Should I buy all new gauges and just retro fit them in, or get a new rally dash (expensive), what would be the simplest solution?

    Welcome to cc.com Tony!  Glad you found us!!  Love your car . . . black e-bodies RULE!  As for your gauges . . I would tackle each one on its own and try to discover why it doesn't work??  Do you have power going to them all??  Have you checked your fuses??   :clueless:

    Yeah, it won't be fun, but you'll need to check each gauge for good continuity, and if they're okay, then check the senders themselves.  I think the fuel sending units go out on these cars like light bulbs...  I'm pretty much in the same boat, but it's because a previous owner removed and replaced the engine, and didn't hook up anything correctly...

      I can't believe someone put those EXPENSIVE wide trim pieces from a 71 Chally, on the front of yours. It looks great!!  :thumbsup: As for your gauges, does anything work? The clock and tachometer usually die first. There is a voltage regulator that controls the gas/oil pressure/temp gauges.

    Thanks for the welcomes.  I had to come in to work so I'll have to check on the voltages when I get home later on.  I did find that the speedo cable was disconnected.  I reconnected it and it didn't do anything.  None of the the gauges are working at all.

    Nope, nothing moves when I engage the ignition.  I took a quick look under there and it appears everything is connected (at least to the gauges, don't know about the other ends).
