Stainless Headers - XV Motorsports
« on: April 25, 2007 - 02:28:48 PM »
Here's another new product we've just finished up.

We've just got the first production batches of our stainless headers in. I'm really pleased with how these turned out. We're doing matching 3" stainless exhaust with polished stainless mufflers a well. I'll have pics of that installed next week.

Here's the details and some pics:

Ready to make serious horsepower these long tube, equal length headers in beautiful 409 Stainless Steel are an XV Motorsports exclusive.

We've designed some great features into our headers that were pretty important to us for our builds and we're sure others will appreciate as well.

All of our headers feature an O2 sensor bung, so if you're running EFI these are ready to go. These are also great if you're running a carb and want to check your air fuel ratio. Just bring the car to a chassis dyno and you'll be able to perfectly dial in your carb(s)!

We also had them made with production style ball and socket type connection at the collectors. This type of connection allows much easier and flexible installation and does not require any gaskets.

These headers have true merge collectors w/ a fire cone in the collector.

Our headers were made so that you don't need to remove the headers to replace your starter. This was able to be done since these headers were designed for cars that DON'T run torsion bars.

We are offering these for the 6.1 HEMI, 5.7 HEMI, 426 HEMI and 440/Big Block motors.

These can also be ordered ceramic coated for an additional charge.

These are the only headers on the market designed to work with cars that DON'T have torsion bars and run a front mounted rack (and take full advantage of all that extra space!). The headers were designed to work with XV's Level II suspension K-Member and will likely work with other aftermarket K-Members that eliminate the torsion bars (call for details). These will not fit on cars with torsion bars.

Let us know if you would like us to get these made up just the same way for cars running stock suspension w/ torsion bars.  Price and specs would be the same as these and would mate up to our 3" stainless exhaust, so could be stainless end to end.  If we get enough really srious interest on these for cars w/ stock suspension we will get them made up immediately - we just need enough serious people for them.

Hope you all like. There's some more details and pricing on our website.

We'll be announcing more new products shortly.

These aren't run of the mill headers and stainless is a one time install.

For a limited production piece of this quality, it's actually a pretty good deal.

John, are you making these yourself? IE could a custom set for say either a new hemi with a turbo flange or RBs with a turbo flange? Stainless headers with turbo flanges would really open a market up... if it can be done. :naughty:

Are turbo flanges the ones that use band clamps and T-bolts? Those are the ones I want to use throughout my exhaust system.

John, I am definitely a potential customer. I want stainless 2" dia headers for my RB (with torsion bars and perhaps Indy EZ295 heads), along with a 3" stainless dual exhaust going to 3" Cuda tips at the valence. I want to use turbo/band clamp connections throughout.

We're doing them based upon demand.

These headers were done for our Level II Suspension, if you wanted that w/ an LA we could do the install and fab the parts including headers.
There just hasn't been alot of requests for LA w/ our setup so far.

We are having them made to our specifications.  Prior to this we were making them ourselves.  We can do custom fabrication like that, but not on a production basis, makes much more sense to have them made up in quantity.

We can fab turbo headers in-house (or have them produced in quantity of there is enough demand).
Last time I looked cost on materials alone for turbo headers was in the thousands - for the correct grade material that will last.
Some will do them in mild steel, but they aren't going to last too long.

You think there would be a market just to make the manifolds to mount the headers?
We'll build a twin turbo car at some point, but no one has stepped up for a build like that yet that wanted to spend the money to do it.

For the price, that's really not too bad.  I'm looking into the ceramic coated TTI SB headers and that'll be close to $800, so something that'll last for the life of the car isn't too bad with all things considered.  I'd have to agree with Chryco_Psycho that those are a great setup.  Now if only I was running an RB/BB to take full advantage of these.
