    It's a little black deal (square) that I think has either 3 or 4 prongs, goes in fuse box.

    HHmmmmm, no wonder I am lost ....the one I got from Year One is a metal one that looks like it should be bolted inside engine bay......

    That's different than the 73. Now that I think about it, I think the 73 is similar. I thought it was black at first. I'm not sure what the bracket is for if it mounts in the fuse box though. If you look at this page, it doesn't have it for that year and none of the other brackets look like that one.  http://www.jimsautoparts.com/electric.htm
    The ones on ebay look like yours though. Do you have an original owners manual? It would show the location. That or a Chilton's.
