Poll: Colour Choice For My 73 Cuda
« on: April 26, 2007 - 05:29:11 AM »

When the 71 is complete some 2-3 years away I will be turning the 73 into a custom full out pro-street/strip car.
It'll be caged, tubbed, body stiffening galore, either 340ci/528 with around 1,000hp+, maybe blown. A real straight line animal. I have a White car (Lucy) will have a Black car (71 Cuda) and a Silver car (TS50). This is ages away but I'm gathering photos, pictures, opinions & ideas to start thinking about what I want, just a bit of fun.

So, I wouldn't want to paint the car any of those colours as I already have cars in those shades. Limelight was what the car came with when I got it but not factory original which means jack nuts for this car, non numbers etc. So that is always possible but somewhat over done I feel. Nice shade though and for an in your face car like it will end up not a bad shade. Winchester is a very nice colour but I'm not sure if it'll suit a drag style car, I'm sure it will though. The blue would look nice but I've never been a blue car person, but some shades, deep and metallic look wicked. The grey would be something like Joe Rogan's colour but a little darker, the least preferred choice.

The photos and colours are below. Try not to look too much into the car, just the colour. They're not the greatest of photos but it gives you a pretty good idea. If you have any other colours, post them up for ideas.

Winchester Grey

Yupe, it's a nice shade but not quite for me.  :)
FNCudas car is awesome and the build will be something very similar to that car.

Although all the colors are nice, my  :2cents: is that if you are going to build it like a pro street car, get the meanest looking color.

So.... IMO a darker color, like the Custom Blue Metallic is pretty cool or another dark color.  But then again your '71 is black so if you have a white care, a black car, then you might want to step away from anything close to those colors to give your collection a variety of colors.

Maybe a High Impact Color to give some flair?  Just my  :2cents: .

I love your 'cuda the way it is now. How dare you touch it. Australians were right about you guys......The grey is different and would stand out, especially as a race car

Thanks SB72. I agree, Limelight is looking rather good at present. I think it's between that or Winchester for me. Black would be the baddest but when the 71 is done, IMO, you can;t really get much badder than that lol. So, I want to stay away from that and go for something else. Silver is "OK" but some silvers, or most, should I say, look very tacky and cheap on Mopars and in particular, E-Bodies.

Darkside: Thanks but I'll already have a black car, not TX9 but the blackest of black blacks.
Please keep that in mind when you vote people. Not White, Black & Silver.

I have always been a fan of Winchester Grey so that is what I voted for, but I also love limelight.

...since you asked about silver or gray....how about the "Graphite" on the 2002 Viper....I get more positive comments about the color of this Viper than any I have ever owned....

Oof, i used my vote for Custom Grey/Silver before reading the body of your post :banghead:...all things considered i'd change me vote to Other and suggest something similar to Sherwood Green from the mid 70s.
