Rocker molding - keep them or loose them?

I am building a restomod from my 73 Cuda and can't decide if I should keep the rocker panel molding. I normally like the looks of them but not sure that they will look right after the restoration. (I am doing the body work now and have to decide if I should cut the tabs off.) To give you a better idea of the build, I plan on leaving the bulge hood and adding an AAR spoiler painted body color. I will remove the molding around the tail panel and it will have elastomeric bumpers. For now, I still plan on having the wheel well trim on the car as well as the molding on the top of the door. Any thoughts? Have you seen a restomod with these on? I don't have photoshop so I can't mock anything up for a comparison.   :feedback:

I say if you plan to remove the tail trim and you plan to go body color with the spoiler and do the elastomeric bumpers, having something different on the side profile of the car would be a good idea.

I say either leave the rocker molding off or have body colored mirrors.

leave the rocker molding,i added it to my 73 to break up the color a little. :ylsuper:
74 cuda,az car. built 383,727 manual shift,reverse pattern.8th cuda project,cant get enough!

If you want something different from the fish gill style, you could get some mouldings off a Gran Coupe, they are slatted (finned) horizontally like a MP valve cover - with some paint application or alternate paint/polish, it could make for something unique
70 Cuda, 7.0L Gen-III Hemi, Viper T56 w/9310 gearset, 3.91's, Megasquirt MS3x v3.57, Innovate wideband, Firm Feel upper arms, torsion bars, springs and strut rods, QA1 DA shocks. I did everything on this car except the fancy paint stuff and I drive it...and I can't seem to stop messing with it....

  Anyone have a picture of the Grand Coupe style?? I know what the 71 moldings look like but am not sure about the ones you are talking about.

I'm thinking the same with what I should do with my 71. Keep them or lose them.
I've never really liked them, they're a bit too big IMO, a little smaller would be cool.

I did this photo shop below to have a direct view side-by-side.
I'm still undecided...................
