ja20,

I am in the process of replacing my roof panel as we speak. I have quite a few pics on my site.

I picked one up used for 100$. It had a cople of dents here and there. It also had some rust spots, which I beleive are inevitable.

Hre was my before pic:

After many hours of drilling out the welds and what not, it came free.

here is an after

Here is the wasted skin:

Here is the donor skin:

Here is the initial fit- mind you, I have been hammering on this thing for a while now. I also pool-welded most of the holes shut, making for a pretty factory look once I spot weld it in place.

Here is the car as she sits currently. Just primed and painted the roof to do some more finite surfacing. There were far more dents in it than I had previously seen. I also have been taking it on and off the car, tweaking on it and flipping it over and back, so I am probably causing some of the dents. Should all come out easily.

I do have some tips if you are interested. I would not be scared of this project. It is easier if you have a good donor roof, and dont have to do any other repair. I took what I could get.
Please let me know if you have any questions..

Dan
