Wheel Vintiques or Stockton??
« on: May 01, 2007 - 10:26:32 AM »
For Chrome Magnums. I placed an order with Stockton the first week in April and they have givem me the runaround since...blaming it on the chromers.

Contacted Summit and they have them in stock to ship today.

Is there significant quality differences that would compel me to stick with Stockton?

Oh...and I would save almost 100.00 in shipping.  I'm thinking about pulling the plug on Stockton and going to Summit.

Dan, My Magnum 500's from Wheel Vintiques were less than what I expected as the black paint was flaking off right out of the box and 1 of the 4 was out of round. I ended up only sending the out of round one back and fixed the others myself so I personally would steer clear of these. On the other hand others have said theirs have been OK. I don't have any experience with Stockton. Guess It's hard to make the choice if the other company can't deliver. Just my  :2cents:

My black started flaking too. Also some light rust after a couple of years, but it did rub out with fine steel wool. I want to buy another set for the cuda that I'm doing but won't use wheel vintique.

I called Stockton again after failing on there third promised ship date and they assured me that they were going to ship by this Friday....we'll see.  I told them I was going to cancel order if they did not ship.  He told me to call him Friday to check.

Well...gave the guy until today to ship wheels....they never went out so I cancelled order.  Took 3 calls to get through after being put on hold once and having a guy tell me he would call back after lunch and never doing so.  The girl that is supposed to credit my card said if I didn't see it by next Tuesday to give her a call..."sometimes things get lost in her folder".   :22yikes:  Never again with these guys...looks like I be buying from Wheel Vintiques and hope the wheels are true.

Stockton are the worst. I've ordered before, slow, poor professional manner.
I went to call them today as they (so I thought) were the only ones who made custom cop rims.

Their answer? "Where are you calling from? New Zealand. No, we don't ship to New Zealand or worldwide.....(silence).....Ok?, Thanks for calling" :walkaway: Even Cass at Dr-Diff said to stay away from them.......

your story sounds so familiar. stockton wheel service tends to over promise and under deliver. i would call your card company up and disput the total charge asap for non delivery of merchandise. who knows how long it's going to take for them to credit your card back. not sure why you have to pay a 15% restock fee... you never received anything or sent back to have restocked.

Got my wheels from summit.  Took 2 days from when I ordered them and they were on my doorstep.  The quality looks fantastic.

Update:

These guys are real winners...now I can't get them to credit my card.  Started process last week Thursday and as of today it still isn't credited.  Am I off base here?  How long does it take to get you money credited back on your account?  :swear:

Call your credit card company and explain the situation. It does take up to two weeks , that has been my experience but start the process now. I got my Ralley's from Jegs (Wheel Vintique) and had no problems. And had them in two days!
