We kept this under wraps this long, and with some of us not being able to make the entire weekend, whats another day? Why not keep the lid on it for another day and present it to him at the tent on saturday when most of us will be there?  I do like Jackies idea and all she put into her efforts for a grandstand presentation but if the general consensus is for thursday night, so be it. I know personally, I'd like to be there for the presentation and I'd be willing to bet that others would be too, however due to other commitments and obligations I'm only there for saturday :(

You know I did what I can do. I run a charity event every year and I get my sponsers because they get free advertisement from me. I will not deceive my friends at Carlisle. What ever everyone decides is fine by me. I have to be on honest with them about what is going on. If it's not gonna be a surprise and they don't want to be involved. So be it. I'll help if I can. Plus people need to remember that Speed Channel films this event , free advertisement. And how much money is left and what is needed to finish the Cuda? Food for thought.....

Do you mean that, or suggest that the "powers that be" at Carlsile what to dictate a presentation they have had absolutely nothing to do with thus far? If that is correct I personally (my opinion) can tell them to what to do with it. Now I'm only one individual and certainly will go along with the concensus of this site, but how can they be so brash as to say this is how it's going to be?  They will be benefactors of the publicity because of this presentation. We as a site can care less about publicity. This is for Don, a hard working serviceman, not for us or anyone at Carlisle.  :2cents:

Jackie all I was going on was that you said that they wanted it covered on the stage for a Saturday night presentation, and then in the quote of your post above you said if it was not a surprise of this nature they wanted nothing to do with it. I was not attacking you or anyone, I just don't see a third or fourth party trying to tell c-c.c how this will be done. Besides, I'm but one opinion and I also said if this site wanted to do it THEIR way, so be it. Your efforts are appreciated but if that is their attitude about it.................  :villagers:

Step back & look at all ideas, we're in this for Don, all help is appriciated & ideas should be tossed around & worked out as you go, when it gets close you can put up a poll & see what flies & what doesn't , hang together & we'll get the best results for Don. Rich.

 :iagree:

That's why I say if I can't be there it's alright. Really, most of what I did was contast Foose and that pretty much came to nothing, and althought I'd like to see the results, if I can't then I can't. Ultimately, what will be best for Don, and what will he like more? Would he rather have an intimate private gathering or would he be happier with a huge crowd. I don't know him, and I've barely talked to him, so someone who knows him well has to make this call. If it turns out that I can be there and take some good shots I will, and if not I'll send him a hearty congratulations

Wow, thats a shame, looks like a simple misunderstanding on the way that carslile statement was worded,( "IF they don't then fine) rather then( no suprise no involvement. )to keep it short.  :dunno: Rich.

I hope so...she's really done a lot in the time she's been here. Like jacksboys explained it was a simple misunderstanding without being intentional :-\

Besides we didn't have a chance to pick an alternate cotm :poopoke: ;) C'mon back Jackie...

Yes, it appears my eyes read one thing and my brain understood it a little differently. I got on yesterday morning and she had again posted that I should pm her (wish she'd had pm'd me too), I decided to read back through this thread and then send her a message. The phone rang and then our daughter droped by (Mother's day), anyway, when I got back on latter in the day she had deleted her posts. There was never at anytime anything negative said about her or what she was attempting to do, in fact the opposite, it was all in my questioning Carlisle Productions and Chrysler Nationals' take on what was being done by c-c.c for Don. Sad she evidently didn't see or understand it as it was.

Jackie if you should somehow read this, I obviously misunderstood. I wish you would have seen that and not taken it as an "attack" upon you. Another thing puzzles me too, she mentioned a couple times about being honest with her contacts, had there been anything said or suggested that c-c.c was trying to mislead anyone? I don't quite follow that either. ?

If I'm interpreting itall correctly, I think she thought we were suggesting that we present the car to Don privately on Thursday, and then again in the grandstands on Saturday, the second time having him pretend that he didn't know.

For what it's worth, Jackie, I do hope you come back. I think you did some great work; we just weren't synchronized about what everybody wants to do.

I'm at a loss of words concerning the wrong turn and misunderstanding that has occured. I really hope Jackie comes back.

Anyway, let's get back on subject as why I started this thread... To show the progress of Dons Cuda.

I removed the rear bumper fuel tank and rear valance. Started to strip the main body on the outside. Needs some very minor rust repair in the lower qtrs. No big deal. Plan to remove the dash and drivetrain in the next couple of nights. Goes to the blaster on Wed.  :2thumbs:
