Wow! The car is really progressing nicely!

Now, I have not checked the board in a while, but it seems that Jackie might have overreacted slightly to a simple misunderstanding of her comments about Carlisle. What WSM said makes sense - that if Carlisle wants control over the presentation process (they will not help if it is not a suprise) - then they are being jerks. However, if this was a simple misunderstanding like it seems to be, the best way to handle it is not to quit the board in a huff, but rather to talk it out and figure out a solution that is agreeable to all. Come back, Jackie!

Shelby...we don't just delete posts around here.  It was a misunderstanding...that is clearly the case.  No one was attacking... and yes, we all wonder why she left.  It was not that big of a deal.

Call me blind, but I fail to see any personal attacks here... seems that there was a simple misunderstanding of what was said. Some read it that Carlisle wouldn't help if the unveiling was not a suprise. If this is not what they said, which it doesn't seem that it is, this problem is better solved by talking about it instead of quitting the board in a huff...

And because of this, Cuda Guy is now asking questions... this might not end well.

:iagree:

I think we (as in those who are making a mountain out of a mole hill) need to focus what the whole purpose of this thread and project: TO GET DON HIS CUDA   That's it, end of story, it doesn't matter if I suggest we paint the car hot pink and 30 members tell me I'm higher than a billy-goat on crack and I don't like it.....it's not up to me.  We need to put our feelings aside for the duration of this project and stay focused and be sure Don doesn't suspect anything.

Sorry for the rant, but I'm totally disgusted that someone would "quit" a forum over what a few people may have said about their ideas.  I'll probably think differently when I calm down but I think my whole point is that we are missing the point of this whole thing; Don is the center point and that's it.  He'll be estatic (sp?) if it's presented to him at Carlilse on stage with tv crews from all over or if we all got together in a small town and did it in someone's back yard.  I'm willing to bet his reaction would be the same.

:clapping: :2thumbs:  I like how most are really giving it their all to make this happen.  And fishin4cuda is doing the hardest part with his labor intensive task trying to get it right.
I personally want to thank you for the long hrs and dedication you are doing for this project/gift.  Thanks for all the effort and commitment you are doing for Don and the club, it is heartfelt throughout the world.

When all is said and done, we, I, will try to make another post for donations on supplies you are going through and useing for the body work performed. I know fishin4cuda is useing up more materials then we realize to get this car stripped, cleaned, primed and painted. WE MUST FEED THE KITTY fund is needed.

The car is coming along fantastic.   Thank you for the big effort ...ALAN

Thank you very much everyone. Remember, we the members of CC.Com, are doing this for Don. Let's get back on track. There's alot to do. There will be a Saparate thread at a later time to have discussions. Priorty is getting the Cuda done. The rest will fall in place. This board is made up of great people and it shows with all the donations. Keep up the great work! :2thumbs:

Ok, I just talked with Jackie (via email) and things are ok with her.  Her leaving the forum had nothing to do with anyone or anything on the board.  She's doing fine but has some personal things she needs to take care of.  She also says hi to everyone.
