Saturday was a struggle. The center body line is a pain in the butt to get straight. That wasn't the worse thing of the day. A couple of people from the local mechanical college came over to clean, tear down, and regasket the 318. After degreasing it and powerwashing the entire block, it became very evident the drivers side of the block was cracked.
:banghead:After some discussion as to how to repair, a couple of calls to Dons dad, and a few others, we decided to set the original 318 aside because of time and cost. So the next question where are we going to get an engine that doesn't need rebuilt and not open a can of worms to hinder the reassembly? Think, Think, Think, Think.......oh ya I remembered a 318 was sitting in the warehouse out of a 71 Challenger conv I used to own and it still ran fine when I pulled it. I decided to let Don borrow it until he puts a big block in it later.
So today I'm going back out to the shop to block sand some more and hopefully have the car ready for paint tomorrow.
