I was there, and I would have to say that it was totally awesome.

The news clip was very short compared to all of the filming that they did. There were three cameras there, and they all taped interviews with Don, as well as with fishn4cuda and 4cruisin. They cut out a ton of stuff including uncovering the car, Dons son Riley giving him the keys, etc. There were several people doing videos and photos, so make sure you get to watch the whole thing when it is available.

Don was literally speechless.

My favorite remark. Don look up and said "This is crazy! What are you guys thinking!"

It took a while for it to really sink in, and I think he was in shock for at least an hour.

The folks at Carlisle were great too. Last night, they bought a set of bumpers for the car, and donated them. The guys actually installed them last night.

fishn4cuda did a remarkable job. Pictures just don't do the car justice, because it is BEAUTIFUL!

All I can say is, it couldn't have happened to a nicer guy.

The links all DO work, but I think we have overworked the web site.  There are people all over the world looking at this, and I don't think their web site is ready to handle the traffic!  Keep trying, it should work!

As I already said in the usual posting area of the site (now that Don knows & all), it's great seeing his reaction as I can remember just how happy he looked in '05 driving around April's '72 'Cuda to and from the fairgrounds.  I sure hope Don can make the show again next year as there's no way in hell I'm missing it for the second year in a row!! :grinno: :2thumbs:

Oh, and Rich, thank you so much for donating some very nice pieces to make this car come together.  You sent in a bunch of great items this car needed and Tony was able to really make everything received for this car 'pop' with all the work he added to it!!!!!

For when you get a chance to read this....Don, you definitely deserve this as you're putting your life on the line to keep this country strong and stable for the rest of us.  Personally, thank you man and stay safe as you go back to the desert! :wavingflag:
