Serious question about owning and driving an e body?
« on: May 04, 2007 - 01:21:09 PM »
Who on this board, has put the most mileage on their beloved e body?

Who on this board, has owned their car the longest?

I'm not old enough to have owned them orginally, but I really enjoy mine.  No way I have as many career miles logged, as some of the veterans here.

By no means have I had it the longest or put the most mileage on it. I just picked it up on '01. I did, however, use it for a daily driver for 6 months from November 2005 to April 2006 while I was rebuilding the trans in my ford exploder. If you think you get a lot of looks when your out driving your e-body in the summer, imagine all the heads turning when I motored past people in the dead of winter, snow tires throwing white stuff into the air, with three kids in car seats in the back.

My original 74 was my/our only car and my first BRAND NEW car, when I got married in 77 the wife drove it to work every day , I got back it back on the weekends. All weather car, I think it had about 60K on it when I sold it, on the new (old) ones, the 73 maybe 2 blocks, drove it off the flat bed  & into the yard, moved it around a couple of times. The 74 maybe 10 miles, around the neighborhood, wouldn't dare chance a long drive till it's rebuilt! Rich.

Sept. 05 I bought mine. Had it put together in May of 06. I put on about 300 miles last summer, hopefully more this summer.

I drove mine for about a year. I drove my son home from the hospital, and parked it so I could gather any parts I wanted to replace, and find time to work on it. My boy just turned 14, and we are starting to work on the restoration now. Just in time for drivers ed.

I bought my red 72 340 cuda in 1979, drove it till 1996 everyday or atleast 5 times a week. The odometer rolled over in the late 80's. I made it into a tube chassis race car in 1997. That is the cuda I put the most miles on. I still have it

Owned Lucy 4 years TODAY! :clapping: :woo:

The 73 Cuda around 1 year? I drive Lucy around 2 to 3 times a week if the weather is nice. Doesn't bother me if it's raining or she gets wet but driving in storms and down pours isn't fun, no matter who you are. So, if it's sunny, arm out the window and enjoy my $$ spent. Got to drive them...........

I got my cuda in July 1977.  It got parked for 20 years so it only has 71,500 miles on it. I just got it running good late last summer. This spring though I have driven it  about 500 miles so far and will be doing a lot of cruising this summer.
