Hello out there in cyberspace...
THis is my first post on this site. I have a 1974 Challenger JH23L4B------ (don't know if I should post the rest of the vin..). I was told that this car is special because of the VIN. It shows it originally had a 360 in it. Any way to find out how many 74 Challengers came with 360s?
The car was purchased over the internet, and brought to me from Kentucky. Not really driveable. It would need a few items repaired to make it road worthy. I bought it from someone who got it from someone who was gonna race it on a
dirt track! (if you can believe it). The car has no gas tank, has a fuel cell which will be removed this weekend, and it starts with a push button on the dash. Wiring is totally messed up.
The car does start, but that's all I'd say about it. I started it, drove it into the garage, and that's where it's been for the past 7 months.
I bought this project, and hope to make it road worthy in the near future. A total resto is in its future. I bought this year of Challenger because my first car (at age 17) was a 74 Challenger that I severely abused and sold for dirt.
Damn my youth!!!!
Anywho, I'll probably try to put a 360 back in it, since that's what it had when it was new.
I have a wide collection of mopars...a couple are finished. (69 Charger and 71 Dart Swinger). A couple are waiting in the wings (along with the 74 Challenger I have a 69 Charger R/T). I also have a couple of trucks (68 powerwagon and 64 Dodge D 100 stepside). The stepside is being resto'ed, and will have a 440 w/auto trans. when finished.
Oh, and I almost forgot about my "neon on steroids" ~ 2003 SRT-4 w/stage 2 + extras. Let's just say it eats Hondas for breakfast
I am in Dewey Arizona...about a 90 minute ride north of Phoenix. I'll need several parts (gas tank, among other stuff) and I guess I'll look on this site for items I'll need.
I'm glad this site is here to help us all!
