Road Trip
« on: May 05, 2007 - 06:06:47 AM »
Well we are loading up to head off to Aberdeen, S Dak. I bought a 71 Dodge pickup from me cousin a couple of years ago and it's time to go get it. It's a /6 and auto but all I really want is the 8 3/4 rear diff. I'm hoping since it's a /6 and auto it may be a 3:55 or 3:91 ratio. It's raining pretty good so it may be a mess to load. Talk to you all later as we are leaving Fargo in around a 1/2 hour.

Thanks for the kind words. Well it rained all day and when it didn't it poured out. If it could go wrong it did. The wheels were so stuck they wouldn't turn and the winch pulled so hard it broke the mounts. Then we decided to use 2 come-a-longs, that was a mistake also as we couldn't move either. Well after about 3 hours we had the idea of getting the closest farmer to come over with his tractor. That was the best idea all day. He lifted the front of the pickup and I backed the trailer under it. Then he lifted the rear and pushed it on. We left home at 7:00 AM and finally got back at 9:30 PM but we had the pickup.
