You can drop the pan and look ,the strut might have broken or fallen out.Otherwise O.H. it with good kevlar bands .a HD intermediate band strut,3.8 ratio lever,billet rear servo,Mopar deep pan and a Transgo shift kit.
By the time I get all this heavy duty stuff for the trans to beef it up...wouldn't I just be better off buying one from Cope or a reputable builder? I think Copes are 1350 or so. Won't I have just about that in a re-build?Dan
If he likes hard shifts Terry, wouldn't a TF-3 kit be the way to go?
You should be able to get one built with those parts for alot less than $1350. That would run you around $600 to $700 bucks here at my shop (shipping is the killer!)
Just to add... By playing with the kick-down linkage, you can make it shift as hard or as soft as you'd like.
Sheesh, I spent more than twice that for my rebuild, and a Transgo shift-kit added.
