I'm in the process of deciding what color combination to paint my 72 Cuda. By the way, is there a way to tell if its a real Cuda? THe door panels had the Cuda emblem and they looked original. The hood emblems were gone, and there was nothing on the tail piece either? The white and green engine sticker says it was a  340 car as does the vin, but the fender tag is really rusted up. I have not been able to look at it closely yet. THe rear seat was gone, so the broadcast sheet will not be there. It has both sway bars and the dual exhaust cutouts.
Did they ever produce a  hemi orange with the white hocky stick stripe? Thats what I am leaning toward. I see you went the black, and that would work better for the tail panel, dont know if white would look OK there or not, guess it depends on if the bumper is painted or chrome? I also have the budge hood, and have not figured out how to get some contrasting white on it (to match the stripe etc). Last, the spoiler????? None, or a white one or maybe just painted orange?

What are your thoughts on these ideas?

PS: I need to repair the firewall, a small quarter sized hole about  6" from the master cylinder. THis is not a show car, so what do you suggest? I planned to clean it up and weld a patch, then por 15 both sides?

Here is a post I made last week on the subject

H = High              Standard Barracuda
S = Special          'CUDA
P = Premium         GranCoupe

As in the vin # BS23R1B100023

I'll bet yours is gonna be BS23H2B1XXXXX Which would be a real 1972 340 'CUDA.

How close am I ?

As the others have said BH=Barracuda BS=`cuda
The tail panel should be black on a `cuda,body color on a Barracuda
The Hockey stick stripe was `70 only so would not be correct for your `72 but it would look good so it`s up to you

I thought AAR front bumpers came to more of a point,and creep up the sides of the fenders :clueless:  All I could find look like regular bumpers.

The one at AARqualityfiberglass is the right shape. You can't really see the bumper tips from the picture, but the underside profile looks like the proper elastomeric shape.

The price sure seems good.  Some questions, if you don't mind:
Are they all fiberglass, or do they have a little elastomeric coating on them?
Are the threaded studs attached on the back so you don't have to drill them and put bolts through?
Do you suppose it's possible to put a 1/4" thick strip of steel behind them to provide a little protection just in case?
Thanks

If you want to do that then why not use the front bumper reinforcement from a '73 or 4 Barracuda?  It should fit pretty well inside the glass bumper and it shouldn't be too hard to bolt on the earlier brackets by drilling a couple of holes.
That way you could just "glass" the cover over the steel and bolt it all up

There's no coating. Just black paint over the 'glass.
