To everyone who posted with their feedback and comments I got just one thing for yah ------->  :2thumbs:

It has become apparent that I should take my time picking these rims and since I do work in the computer industry, I think the best way to go about this is to get a good pic of my car and photoshop every rim known to man into the picture.

Thanx again everyone!

Cheers,
dray

Good thread, I maybe looking into some 18" wheels for the 71 Cuda. Have to be black though. I was thinking Black powder coat center with ghost grey lip, instead of the chrome lip you always see. More stealth.

Actually there is already a site out that that allows you to do this and it comes equiped with a Challenger and a Cuda. With it you to change wheels, aspect ratios, ride height, car color, and window tint levels. I'll see if I can dig up the location and I'll post it.

I really loved the 68's until I found out they wee made in China. Call me crazy but I would rather pay a good dollar figure for quality wheels that are American made and not support in any way the Red Machine. I know it's wierd but I like to look at the company and origin.
http://www.vintagewheelworks.com/products/wheels has the V48's that look like the AAR race teams wheels from the 70 and 71 race seasons. I am going to do an AAR tribute style and think they would look great. I have Willwood 12.19" front and rear discs w/ Dynalite 4 pistons. Some here may think that is "overkill" but those are the same people that would call my Hydroboost hydraulic brake booster overkill. Would the XV Motorsports chassis stiffening kit be overkill? I guess it goes well with the Alter-k-tion front and Ride Tech 4-link.
If you think I did all this stuff because I like the "bling" of big 17" wheels you're crazy, BUT if I had a stock suspension and engine I would still have them. Maybe I do like the bling.
Guys, if you are saying it can't be done, don't stand in front of the guys who are doing it.

While not all is made in China (of course) you'd be surprised what actually is. With companies struggling to keep up with other companies getting cheap labour from sources like China, India etc most have to do it out of need, not want. Having said that if you want 100% Made American (I prefer European for my wheels) buy from known manufacturers like Foose and although I hate to say it, Boyd.

I don't think it's overkill as such, one or two times around a circuit would be worth putting those in. It's not always about performance but also driving comfort and drivability. Putting your foot into bigger disc brakes sure beats stock spaghetti or what-not. The stiffening kit is also a great move. I'll be putting it on my 71 'Cuda and unless you're roadkill you won't see any of it, mind you, mine is a custom car and numbers and correctness mean nothing on this build. I'm liking the modern look cars. Having a factory restored style" car Lucy, it would be nice to hop into a custom modern street machine that would tail a Viper given the chance. Best of both worlds.

Of course I am not a staunch "American only" kind of guy. I have been all around the world and have seen some hi-quality stuff from the British,Japanese and Germany and it extends past wheels. I just feel to support our hobby in the right way, one should look to the companies that do thier own R & D and invest time to achieve quality. Chinese products seem to lean toward copying and ripping off design. Also you will find companies that come up with a product and send it to be manufactured in Indonesia and China and other such countries where working conditions and things such as the environment is an afterthought or not even a thought at all.
Enough politiking. Buy what you want but keep in mind the high quality stuff you want comes at a price but you can find good deals here and there. It doesn't matter where it comes from if it is quality merchandise.
