So, you getting excited Carl?

I should have some early paint pictures of my black 71 here in a few weeks. They're waiting on the XV stiffening kit and power windows to ship so they can install before finishing body work and starting paint. Then I'll be getting really excited.

great great pictures here.. i just cant get enough .. oh and thanks a million for the Phantasm car ..  does anyone know what became of it? i know that this car was in a horrible mechanical and electrical condition when Phantasm was made and they had problems to keep it running ... after finishing the movie a crew member kept the 1971 cuda 340 and it sat in his driveway for some time before it got sold for A MERE 1000 bucks (NO effin kidding) to an unknown buyer .. thats where its known history ends ..the car has 2 rather unique features which would make it easier to identify it if its still alive ... for the movie they flared the rear fenders a bit and they installed a glass sunroof for a scene where Jody (or was it Mike?) popped the roof out to shoot at the "tall man's" hearse ..

about the Phantasm 2 car:  director don coscarelli just couldnt part with the car after finishing the mvie and so he kept it ... although that car appeared to be a hemicuda it was a 318 but i think don later converted it into a hemi clone  (btw he owns a red on read AAR cuda too)

the Phantasm 3 and 4 cuda 1970 convertibles by the way are cars don borrowed from a california cuda club ... i even think it was only ONE car .. pretty sure even its the same car in p3 and 4 but i dont know if this car is a REAL hemicuda convertible

Yeah, I flew out there on Sep 1st to meet them and check out a couple of the cars they had on hand.

My car had the majority of the rust replacement completed and was basically ready to go. They already shaved the door handles and turn signals and relocated the trunk lock. I'll crop some of my pictures and start my build thread now I guess. :chatting:

And here I thought I was the only one that remembered that '71 black cuda from Phantasm.  Totally ahead of its time.  Both the car and the movie.  For some of the younger generation, it was a trendsetting film starring an awesome '71 cuda and even shows a closeup of the pistol grip shifter.
