other mopar web chat sites
« on: November 10, 2003 - 12:45:10 PM »
ok i need to get this off my chest here..  I frequent a few web sites similar to this one. I am fairly new to this one here but ive been a member of Moparchat.com for years now.  Moparchat and cuda challenger are very good and probably my favorites.
I also have a dodge intrepid,(i wont name it) so sometime i have to go to a similar site dedicated to dodge intrepids to get info.  those guys over there are tools. its like an import web site. all the questions they ask are "how much HP will i get out of that new tornado thing on TV?"   and they have no sence of humor.   once i started a thread topic on how to roll back odometers. MAN they all jumped on me like i was the serial sniper from DC.  "thats illegal:, "you can go to jail for that" thats all i heard.. I know its illegal , so is racing on the street.

anyhow.. thought id vent here a little.

Well, there ARE reasons why the Mopar camp has a reputation for being anal retentive about our cars! ;)

I know what you mean.  I started out looking at a couple of them...moparchat, the charger site and then this one.  I don't go to any of the other ones anymore, except every once in a while, I'll check their classifieds.  It sounds like they need to lighten up a little...but did you get any informative responses on the odometer rollback??  ;D

yeah actually,,  i figured out the best way to do it would be to swap the car's computer, since the digital read out is controlled by the computer, you would get a computer from a lower milage car and swap it out.   should work..  i dont think im going to do it anyhow. my dad and I were considering ways to get caught, like all the places that record your mileage. in maryland they record it when you get your emissions tested. HOWEVER, its jsut some fat kid who doesnt know crap about cars , and usually just asks what your mileage is and doesnt actually check.
on the other hand , if you claim "unknown" when you sell the car and the odometer reads alot less than it actually is, you cant get busted. you can say the speedo was broke for a year or two, and you dont know the exact mileage.
just a thought

I have to disagree Moparchat is one of my favorite Mopar sites, there are some tight ass people who can't take a joke but your going to find at least 1 in 26,000 members so it's not a bad hit rate  ;D

That's my biggest (and only) complaint about moparchat...it's huge!  This site is more like a car club where you know everyone and what they're driving and try to help each other anyway we can.  I love this place!!

your right., since ive been coming to this site i noticed it is smaller  and more "family" like, and i like that about it, I also like moparchat.com , ive been a member of moparchat since '99 and ive seen it grow to what it is now. What is good about its size is that there is always someone who can answer your question. so i guess they both have their pros and cons.. i like both web sites alot.
