Opinions (I know I am asking for it) Painted or Polished?
« on: May 12, 2007 - 06:34:22 PM »
I'm trying to decide if I want to go with painted valve covers or polished aluminum ones. I feel like if I go with the polished ones, I'll have to polish the intake or it will look weird. With the painted ones I think I can leave the manifold "natural" and it will look ok. Let me know what you think.

I did everything on this car except the fancy paint stuff and I drive it...and I can't seem to stop messing with it....

I'll add one more pic so you can see what I'm planning here....there is a lot of aluminum going on the top of the motor....

Well, after seeing that, I'm gonna have to change my vote. I think the polished covers would match that set up a lot better. Final answer.

Go polished but then it would look better with polished pulleys with it.

Now the chrome water neck. That could be a problem down the road as previous threads have said.

I agree that the polished ones look good, but they can be high maintenance to keep looking that way.

I like the polished covers.  :2thumbs: Even matte black would look good. It adds a level of contrast. Too much of any one thing doesn't always look so good!! IMO.

powdercoat the fabbed v-covers and the intake. I am having mine done in a "raw aluminum" look. I should be getting them back on Monday and will post a pic then.
I spent a few hours polishing my supercharger yesterday, I hope parts don't clash. Heads are Hughe's Stage 2 Eddy's that are'nt going to be polished (waiting for those from UPS).

Either or looks fine to me mate. I agree with Bulldog, what about the Black MP covers?

Please note:

The detailing on the Green Cudas bay is from the previous owner. Ie: the nasty radiator hose cover. LOL
