I don't think the big issue here is the environment. Don't get me wrong, the environment is important, I just don't think it's the major issue. I think it's the fact that we are addicted to oil, and unfortunately, we are at the mercy of greedy big oil companies, and people from countries who hate us. You see what happens every time there is some obscure rumor, or exchange of words with countries like Iran. The price of gas jumps. Then we have aging refineries, and "repair problems", etc. All it will take is one problem in the right place, and our whole economy can come tumbling down around us. How would it change your life if gas went up to $10+ per gallon?
Also, I'm not talking about replacing our classic cars, I'm talking about your every day driver, whether it's a Challenger, SUV, or pickup.
