« on: May 16, 2007 - 05:19:41 AM »
okay, my problem now is the 540 aluminum hemi, 833 4-speed, with dual holley carbs - vacuum secondaries,  710hp

the car will not run at all, engine runs great in shop, bogs down at 25 mph, spins tires a little in 1st gear

mechanics say "why are carbs vacuum secondaries with manual tranny, will never run with this carb set-up, ditch the duals and get new intake & single Demon Carb ----

have already WAY 2 MUCH Money on this restomod - to make another change

HELP NEEDED BEFORE MORE IS SPENT - is it possible that i have the ONLY dual carb hemi that CANNOT drive past 25 mph????

It always boils down to two things: fuel and spark. I'm willing to bet that you're just not getting enough fuel.

yea the EFI version from Indy Cylinder Heads is $4300.00

Everybody was right - the custom builder of the carbs said they used a 500 gallon per hour fuel pump to feed the MONSTER 710 hp HEMI

my 160 gph recommended by Speedomotive was starving the engine

anybody need a new Edelbrock Fuel Pump & Regulator

i will be buying new one -   this site is AWESOME - in case anybody did not already know
