The pic has to be less than 300K in size. You can send me what you have, and I'll shrink and post for you if you wish.

I have a magizine article with a 1970 HEMI Challenger with the T/A Hood option, the funny thing was that the factory didnt have any T/A Hoods available at the time the car was produced so the factory shiped it with a shaker hood another funny thing was that the Challenger was shiped out with the radio antenna in the rear like a T/A.  I always found that car to be very interesting, it was lime green with white interior and a argent shaker bubble.

That's a really nice car. Unfortunately, it's way out of my price range. :walkaway:

Thanks for the nice comments! I figure I would try to get some exposure here and also on the Moparts board. Even though Ebay gets a car alot of visability, I really don't want to go that way!. Maybe Hemmings next month.

I thought the story was that the factory was out of shaker hoods, and so challengers were shipped with T/A hoods :clueless:

Not true. Just a story. The T/A hoods become a performance option on non-T/A cars in the spring of 70. A special air-cleaner was needed for this application. Only 20 or so air-cleaners built for this set-up in total. I believe Fram supplied them.

The factory would have never replaced a shaker hood (on the assembly line) Challenger with a T/A hood. They would have put on a steel deck hood which was standard.  N94 was the code for a T/A hood. My 70 is the only exsisting N94 Hemi-Challenger in the Chrysler registry. There was another Black race car that was dismantled in the 80's.

Either way 1 of 1, 1 of 3, your car is awesome.  I love unique cars like this one.  You a lucky man to own it.  Good luck with your sale. :woohoo:

Thanks Cuda Guy! Please understand I wasn't trying to make this car a 1 of 1 car. Just trying to give my explaination on the "replacement of shaker hoods with T/A hoods" when the cars were being built. That rumor has been floating around for years without any "real" proof of it being fact. I'm hoping someone looking for a Hemi-Challenger that's rarer than even a shaker car will give consideration to this one. For personal reasons beyond my control, I will sell this car. Its been in my family for over 20 years. The front and rear spoiler were also a pretty rare ordered option on Hemi-Challengers.

The car ran SS/DA against some Sox & Martin sponsored cars (never did beat him) and did run down Gliddens mustang more than once. This happened in the early years between 1970 and 1973.  This information I got from the selling dealer and the original owner who was a salesman for the dealership. He raced on Sunday and sold on Monday! :lol2:

I was told the car then raced in the 70's down in Texas. It was then owned by Lee Hafely (known as Speedy Lee) who owned a large speed shop in Luboc Texas. He owned the car in 77-78 and then its racing days ended.
