Poll: Have You Driven A Pistol Grip Mopar?
« on: May 16, 2007 - 04:16:22 PM »

Just curious, who here has driven a Pistol Grip Mopar before? You don't have to own the car, perhaps a friend let you drive around the block several times or maybe you have driven one in the past or perhaps you own a Pistol Grip Mopar this very day. Reason I ask is I learnt to drive manuals but got a little sick of them due to traffic and the little truck I had to drive for work way-back-when was a gutless POS so I moved to Autos for work. Just recently got another Manual car and it's good to be back now that 5 day weeks stuck in traffic delivering pointless worthless boxed goods 6 hours a day are over LOL.

Anyhow, when I drive Lucy who has a Harms Tilt Grip, it's very nice and all but I really, really, just want to push it up 'n right or back 'n left it's soooooo tempting!! I hold my hand on it for a little while sometimes thinking of how it would be to shift a car with one, seems nice. :grinyes: Can't wait to get behind the 'Cuda which will be a pistol grip car as I myself have never driven one, one day.............

No.   :walkaway:

But both of my trucks are sticks.  4 spd and a 5 spd/overdrive.  Very fun!  Sometimes.   :-\

I drove my buddies  '73 340 'CUDA a couple of times and that shifter is pretty cool. Don't listen to me though, I like the way my 3 speed 'CUDA shifted too and it had that little ball at the top.

I even had a '70 Barracuda that had a 318 and the A-body 4 speed hacked into it and I even liked the way THAT shifted.  Guess I'm not that picky  :dunno:

I have a 70 Cuda 340 4-speed and I love it.  I have had other cars that are stick but there is nothing like going through the gears with a V8 and pistol grip shifter.   :bananasmi

Nice set up mate. I like the G-Tech meter up there, out of the way. What is the row like on a Charger shifter? I have seen 1, maybe 2, videos of guys driving a pistol grip Charger and the row on them looks kind of long, fun to drive but a little lanky in the shifts, yes? no? I like the way the Chargers are, has that 30's Rat/Hot Rod style tall shifter image.

There's nothing like wrapping your hand around a pistol grip and ripping through the gears.  :woohoo:

Years ago my buddy Dave had a loaded 70 GC with a 383 4sp. I still can't get over how stiff the clutch was :burnout:
