727 Rebuild for 600rwhp
« on: May 17, 2007 - 08:49:53 PM »
I am building a single turbo 360 for my 66 Cuda and want to know what kind of parts and money I'll be looking at to have my 727 built up to par.  Also, what kind of converter do you reccommend (about 2800-3000 stall)?  The car will be a 95% streetcar.  Thanks in advance.

I would upgrade to a billet front clutch retainer, add a bolt in sprague in the back of the case, run 4 pinion planetaries, replace both servos with billet, and the Kevlar frictions. I'm guessing this will be more of a road race type drivetrain. Witha  light car, and single turbo (it must be decent sized for that level with a single) you will have some lag. Your convertor will ned to be very special IMO. I'm taking a shot saying I'd go 9.5" with ballooning plates and a very tight 22-2500 stall. I would want it beyond the stall speed when the boost really comes up. but as bosst rises, the stall speed will rise too. I would consult someone like Ultimate Convertors on that. They do a lot of big turbo Fords.
