I agree on the powerflite

Aitemp division also introduced the first Window Air Conditioner for Casement window.  Useless, I know but weird.

Well, 71Bigblock got it right on the 2 speed powerflite automatic transmission. He was first. :2thumbs: But Rallyechall got em both right with the new full-time power steering unit.  :clapping: Rallye gets the gold star!! 71, you're up!! I'd say Rallye gets a question too!! Good diggin' guys!! This is those totally useless tidbits of info, but loads of fun!! :roflsmiley:

It is no secret that the Dodge Brothers worked for Henry Ford and that Fords were made with virtually all Dodge Brother's parts. After 12 years they decided to break away and open their own car manufacturing business. When Henry Ford asked them why,

What was John Dodge's reply???

Man, good question rallyechall  I have no idea.   :clueless: :1zhelp:

Here's one from me.  Its another truck question, he he he, I love trucks too.   :grinyes:

Before the revolutionary design of the 1994 model year trucks came out, Dodge had a different prototype than the ones we see on the road today.

What was it called?  Gold star for a picture.  (Its FUGLY!!!)

This shouldnt be too hard guys.   :grinno:

Too hard?

I've only read about it on one site.  It says that the prototype was actually released in 1988, and was scheduled to be built after the 93 model year.

Hint:

It starts with a P.

And its really fugly.  It looks like a  FODGE.   :eek4:

If no one gets it in the next hour or so I'll tell you guys to keep things rolling.

Here it is:

http://www.pickuptruck.com/html/history/segment13.html

Its called the Dodge Phoenix.  Nasty looking for sure.  It looks like a Ford with a 91-93 grille on it.  Many people didnt care for it because it was just like other 2 of the big three's trucks.  They scrapped it and started over, thank goodness.

You're partially correct. The Lancer didn't debut until 1961. The Valiant was introduced in 1960, but simply as a "Valiant", no "Dodge" or "Plymouth" make assigned to the car. It was of course a Chrysler corp. product but wasn't introduced as a "Chrysler" either. It was just a "Valiant". It didn't officially become a "Plymouth" until 1961

Sorry, I just saw this thread for the first time. Valiant was intended to be a separate car line, like Dodge and Plymouth.  When Plymouth realized in 1961 that they lost the #2 spot in overall sales, but could have kept it if they included Valiant, the Valiant became a Plymouth.  At least, that's what I read somewhere.

sounds like the same thing that happened with the 1960 Comet (later to become a Mercury in 1962)
