My new 440

Hey all,

I just picked up a 440 for cheap $$$.....I got the block, heads, crank, intake manifold, exhaust manifolds, distributor, valve covers, oil pan and more for $250.00.  Here's a few pics of it.  Can anyone tell me what the 6 at the end of the engine numbers stands for?  It's got 902 heads on it, are those the better heads that come with it?  At any rate, I'm pumped because I can finally start to build my motor!!!

Those are probably 906 heads.  I was hoping maybe you had a 440-6 pack engine there, until I saw the 73 date code.  You got it for a good price.

Your halfway there Bob,find a 727 yet? Just to let you know,you can use your Transgo shift kit'd 904 valvebody on the 727 if you swap the park rod.

Nothing yet on the trani....but I'll find one eventually.....I haven't decided if I want to keep my shift on the column or change it to the floor......eventually, I'd like a 4 or 5 speed in it, so I may go on the floor for now....
