Actually did you guys see in the news that they were thinking of using herds of goats in California to "mow" the grass by grazing in an effort to curb wildfires?  For real!

:roflsmiley: git r done. do it like a couple of my buddies did to me a couple years back.i had to run to the window blind store with the wife.it was on my honey do list.two buddies come over, take out my self propelled mower, one at each end of my lawn with a lawn chair and a cold brew in each hand.here they tided a rope around the self proprlled handle and each time the mower would get to each one they got up and turned it around.  :pullinghair: needless to say i wasn't happy with all the "straight" lines in my yard.i ended up doing it over the next day.  :banghead:

:clueless: Did you ask her why?  Does it cause cancer or something?

I like weeds.  Without them I wouldn't have any green on my yard!  :roflsmiley:

Besides, they are self sustaining.  Don't have to water them every week!

This is true, there are companies for hire that bring a herd of goats out to your place to clear an area you specify - started doing this a couple of years ago (at least in the Sacramento area). Was on the local news.

They have been doing that with sheep for years. The problem is its not free, especially if your property isnt fenced for sheep/goats.Barb wire wont do,they usually have to fence the area in temporary predetor fencing so their animals are safe, they dont do that for free.

Overexposure to these chemicals can be a heath hazard. I know a young lady who runs a driving range & sprayed various products from a tank pulled by tractor. She developed serious problems from skin contact & inhalation.  Not that you would ever be exposed in the amount she probably was but avoid skin contact & only spray when the wind is down.

My dad and I farm organically.  Long story short, my dad in his 20's sprayed herbicide to beat heck.  When my older sister was 18 Mo., she had a tumor the size of a grapefruit on her stomach.  By the grace of God she lived, and is doing just fine today.  He stopped spraying in 1989 and about 5-6 years ago we became organic.  The difference is amazing in our health and the health of our animals.  If my dad came on here, he could write a book, I'll keep him away though.   ;D

PS, this is the incredibly abbreviated version
