I'm glad you posted that. I have always loved that prototype and wished they had produced it. I love both ends of it.

From a Mustang owners perspective it's easy to see that it's build over a '69-'70 Mustang (My car is an '69). The Dashboard is identical to mine, and the seats apperar to be the thicker '69-'70 rather than the thinner '71-'73 seats. The door size and wheelbase (104") appears to be identical to '69-'70s as well. The hood is the '69-'70 Shelby hood. No changes made there. Sides of course is Challenger rip-off. The rear end has a definitive Detomaso look to it, as mentioned ;)

Just to be fair to the Ford owners....

When the Challenger was being modeled, the Dodge stylists had a Mercury Cougar in the studio for comparison.   

So, who ripped of whom?  :bigsmile:

There was a lot of competition back then, that is for sure.
