Car looks great, keep up the good work.
Are you using the original drum brakes? I see you have a drum brake master cylinder.

Made some good progress today.  Finished fitting the wiring to the engine bay (car is done exept for fitting a stereo and some inevitable fault finding), refitted the CA vapour return line which was originally going to be left off the car, and connected up the trans to the selector.  Discovered the the steering column lockout won't fit with the TTI extractors - will this be a problem??

Engine bay is as finished as I can get it, rest is up to the mechanics to get it running.  I've gotta say that working under a Barracuda is so much harder than the Jeep - would've loved to have access a hoist today!  :working:

Dave, car still has original rear drums, factory discs up front.

From the picture it looks like you have a drum brake master cylinder, that will not have enough fluid capacity for disc brakes. Not picking just worried about safety.

Dave,  I have just re-used the master cylinder that was on the car and it has factory front discs???  Brakes were functional before disassembly but I only drove the car twice - implications ???

The cap looks like a drum brake one but if it has two different size reservoirs you are OK. If they are the same size it is a drum one and you should change it. It may work until the brakes wear, and as the pistons in the calipers move out it will need more fluid and the master cylinder will go dry. The brakes will fail to work in the front. Defiantly check this out.

Here is a picture of the  disc brake one. The rear reservoir is the larger one for the front brakes.

Not only not having the brakes not work right because the drum brake master cylider is made different than the disk brake master cylinder.  The drum brake master cylinder has a valve in them to hold pressure on the drum wheel cylinder so it will not leak.  It will keep pressure on the caliper if installed that way.  The disk master cylinder has no pressure valve in it so the fluid flows freely.
Got a pretty good start on my M46 optioned Barracuda restoration but now it is on hold till I can gather more funds.  Still need a few parts for it.  SIU Graduate 75 AAS Automotive Tech, 94 BS Advanced Tech Studies, 1997 MSED Workforce Education and Development

That is the kind of thing that makes this site so great.  You get so many guys who know what they're doing looking over your project that they catch stuff like that before it causes other problems.

Well, today I finally got to take the 'drivers' seat of the Barracuda for the first time in nearly 3 years!  All I could see was this huge hood spread out in front of me and I'm 6'3" - its going to be some sort of ride once the 383 is in full song.  Speaking of which, car goes in tomorrow to get the engine run-in and trans, steering and brakes all up and running so hopefully by next week she will be alive  :clapping:

Over the last few days have got the mirrors, wing supports, splash shields, rear bumpstops, door glass (broke a slider so will now have to wait), window clips and floor bungs in.  Was meant to go from the mechanics straight to the trimmers but will now hold off a week or two until all the interior trim can be done together.  Could it be that I am only a month  or two away from completion??  :woo:
