Hey CP I tried to get down your way today and turned around in Red Deer mid morning.  The front tires were spinning when we tried to change lanes to get into Gasoline Alley and I said screw this!  This is the 3rd time in a row that my trip down south has been rotten.  I turned back on the first trip as our client couldn't make it into Calgary either.  Where is global warming?

That's the way I felt living in Marquette, MI. The first year I was there it snowed every day from mid-October until just after Memorial Day. I used to love snow, but after that I think I've had enough.

I can almost relate to that being that I'm around an hour south of Marquette when I'm at home. (Fortunately just during the summer months then I'm farther south for college.)

Neil, I don't know how you could have put up with that weather for so long.  I've been away from the harse winters up here for three years now and still think I need to get farther south to get away from it all.  I think the coldest day I had at campus was around -10*F, whereas I remember it being well below -35 to -45*F and having high school cancelled.  I can only imagine how cold it is farther north.

I like the cold...keeps the killer bees from moving north, keeps all sorts of bugs from staying up here like scorpions, trantulas,  snakes, and the cold gives the girls a chill and they want to cudle to stay warm.   
We call it the Alberta advantage.

I am looking at a # of options , I am at loose ends right now & have essentially become homeless , I cannot afford to do this anymore & live here , renting or owning is out of reach financially , I am sick of the cold , I have about 4 months of work I am committed to finish after that I basically have no ties , I am exploring any reasonable option including relocating to Costa Rica
