I finally own a house
« on: May 25, 2007 - 05:11:57 PM »
For the first time in my life, I am a homeowner. Every one I've said this to has laughed, but I think the folks on this board will understand: the point was to get a garage, and the fact that there's a nice home attached to it was a bonus  ;D

I'm thinking of selling our house and just renting. The older I get, the more it makes sense.

Great looking place there.  I know how you feel about a garage.   It sure does come in handy in the winter.  I knew you were in NC. but I didn't know you were so close to me,  I sometimes go on 71 to my son's house in Hope Mills.  I bet I go right by your place.  I will look for you next time I travel that way..............David

If you can do all you do without a garage I'm doubly impressed.

Taxes aren't too bad here. On the other hand, my first round of moving the lawn took me 4 hours. I'm hoping that's because the grass was about 6 inches high.

Stop on by sometime.

Nice going mate, have to have a garage. Having a place with some confinements and a toilet isn't bad either.  :lol2:

Wow, I did too. :2thumbs:

Waiting for them to put the wheels on it now  :roflsmiley:

It's 2000 sqft. I needed something a bit bigger while I keep saving up.
So lets see in the last 90 days
15k cash for a new shop and concrete
payed 13k cash on cc's to make life easier
20k cash down on a dbl wide and 5 yrs of notes
1200 on crushed rock for drive ways and filler
4k cash on the cuda

I felt if I didnt make the wife more comfortable, she would start feeding me raw fish and red meat

I bought a new dbl wide for the land I am on here till I get my log cabin.

So now my saving went kaput for the next 6 mos.

Glad you got a new hm and garage, and a riding lawn mower will knock down that mowing time by 75% :2thumbs:

I'm going to stick with the push mower at least through the summer. It's about the only exercise I get  :grinno:

Glad you were able to get a garage. We all need one for the winter months and the house makes a nice place to eat and sleep.
