Mufflers & Tips Challenger
« on: May 27, 2007 - 02:56:13 PM »
Just picked these up,  the mufflers are in good shape, have a part number of 21704 on them.  The hangers are there too.  The tips are in great shape, a little bug remover should clean the rest of the crud off.  The non chrome parts are rusty, but still very solid.  Any idea what I should ask for these ?

Thanks,

P.G.

The tips cleaned up real well,  not quite show quality, but definately would be great on a driver.

No one has any idea what they are worth ?

Perhaps if the pipes were cleaned up and the mufflers cleaned up and painted also $100?  :dunno:
Thats probably the max I'd pay, but I'm cheap so who knows.

I would have to think they are worth more than that.  Just those tips alone go for $150-$200 new....plus yours has mufflers.....I would think more than $100.  Maybe closer to $200.....but then again, I have a Cuda, so I'm not too sure what the Chally tips and stuff are worth.

:iagree: i think that $200 would probably be fair, maybe $250, one of those things, new tips are about 200 like they said before and you have the mufflers..... my best guess

Everything you said is true, but like I said, I'm cheap.  ;D
The more I think about it though, $200-$250 does seem more realistic and a very good deal by any means, that is if you are looking for that item and need that diameter pipe.

:iagree:  I think $200 is reasonable.

Back a ways I bought just a set of tips used from a '71 R/T on Ebay for $135.  They were in ok shape, yours are better looking I think.

MyMopar,

I'm cheap too.  :2thumbs:

Haven't decided what to do with them yet.  If I can't use them ( I already have a set of new tips ) I'll probably put them up on eGouge after I cut off what's left of the pipes and wire brush the rust off.

Super,

The tips cleaned up really well.  No rust or pitting to speak of.  Only a little tar left to get off.

I installed a new set of TTI pipes and tips on a guy's 70 Cuda.  I kept his old pipes, mufflers and tips to use on my Cuda.  I knocked $300 off of his bill.   I figure that challenger exhaust is worth a little bit more.
