First of all a Big Thanks for the warm welcome from everyone, it's good to see some of my happy customers over here.
Next...how come I don't get email notifications??? Did I miss the starter button somewhere?
...the 318? 1967 truck block, 273 heads (Came with the car in 1966), 273 rods (originals 88,000 miles)....that's the big secret...LOL...that really ticks off the big block (head) bowtie boy's...
???273 heads ???273 rods ???What's a 273?....LOL
I will admit to doing a little port work on the heads, but we still only run a 1.88/1.58 valve combo. The cam is a Racer Brown, Custom Grind, solid lifter, flat tappet old bump stick. Pistons are Diamond Custom 11.8:1 off my design (Some whacky Idea I had) REV CL series Stainless exhaust valves and REV Ti Intake valves, Comp 1322-16 Chrome Moly bullet proof rocker arms, one of our Stage II modified stock distributors a Victor manifold, 650 Mighty Demon with a 280 BG pump, BG 2 port regulator and a BG 5000 filter, BIG fuel lines and a Rush filter.
Driveline is a Dynamic 4200 convertor, 727, Denny's HD Shaft, Dana 60 with a Ti Spool and Summers Bros. axles hooked up with a 4.56 gear. Bite comes from 11.5 x 30" MT's. noise comes from a set of 1.625 Super Comp Hookers.
Rear suspension is a Vanishing Point Ladder bar and floater set up hung on SS springs.
Car weighs 3220 with my big a$$ in it and it's run 1000' calculated 1/4 mile times at 11.88 but I was never able to run it through the traps ...so far ahead of the BB Chevy's that I was always on the brakes so we didin't go too quick.
That's about it, spin it to 6200 cut a good light and whip 'em all...... just your everyday Mopar grocery getter
WIP...work in progress:
Dump the SS springs and Comp shocks...install coil overs
We're building a mold for the front bumper and getting rid of that 30# chunk of lead off the front end.
If that works OK we'll build some front fender molds and get rid of even more weight.
Bump the convertor to 5000
New Racer Brown stick with 254 duration and up the lift to 520 from 518 (more top end)
Up the 650 Mighty to a 675 Race Demon and add a 2" 1 hole spacer to increase plenum volume
Net result 200 pounds lighter - .2
Convertor -.2
Carb and cam change -.3
Move the shift point to 6500 (and pray the rods hold) -.1
Hopefully that will get us in the 11.20-11.30 range, then in 2005 we'll have the new heads ready (J's with 202/160's) , Oliver Titanium rods and a new set of 13:1 Diamonds and we'll start running some Super Street ...10.90's No Electronics, foot brake, all Iron, flat tappet, 318, that'll get them scratchin' their "sit on's"....LOL...can you imagine building a stout 502 and gettin stomped by a iron headed 318...how embarrassing would that be?
For those who are waiting for thier new Ignition Kit, I got another 23 ready for shipping tonight and they'll go out in the morning so keep your eye open for the Airborne truck...Overseas and Canadian orders will go out tomorrow in the mail and that leaves us with about a dozen left on the shelf....next 150 won't be available until after Dec 21st. there's a big lead time getting our coils made.
Dave's Mopar Specialties in Calgary will have a some available for you Canadian Guy's but I had to cut his order short due to the overwhelming response.
