I have seen 265/50's up front with my own eyes but why you'd want to add extra weight to the front end is beyond me. Traction & control difference will be minimal at best. I have 245/60's up front and no rub, not even close with a 7" Rallye (4-1/4" BS). I do know XV run 275 tires on the front of their cars but that's using their front end kit.
