Converter stall speed question

I finally got my carb issues worked out or so it seems.  :thumbsup: So I have moved into another area. I never did know what rear end gears Nikki had so I finally jacker her up/turned the tires/counted the spins on the driveshaft. Just short of 3 and 1/4 turns. I'm equating this to 3.23 ok? Well for 3.23's I turn alot of rpm's on the highway. At around 65 MPH  I'm turning about 3800 R's (seems high too me  :clueless:) Also noticed when you initally back out of te garage the trans is a little slow to respond (not slipping) Once your going no further issues. Am I nuts or what? As always thanks in advance.

sounds like a bad tach or speedometer that is way off.

Sounds like converter drain back,when it sits the converter drains the fluid out of it.(back into the pan) when you start it in park,it doesn't start to refill it till you put in neutral or in gear,it is totally normal.

I guess  :dunno:  I'll hook up the dwell tach and compare it to the dash tach. Wrong gear in the trans for the speedo maybe??   :clueless:

If I remember correctly, 3.23's should have around a 30-32 tooth speedo gear. :thumbsup:

Those new fangled portable GPS units are good for checking actual MPH.

Today I remembered a spot on the freeway were the Sheriff has one of those radar detectors set up that show your speed and flash if your over the limit. Gonna do a little "testing"  :grinyes:
