Dana rear end
« on: May 30, 2007 - 06:15:51 PM »
This is a 2 part question . I have a dana rear end out of a early 70's police car . I was thinking of shorting it and putting it into my Challenger but today a freind told me that a e body rear end is already wider (the widest of all) .Is that correct ? the same guy has a buyer and says it is worth about $300.00 is that correct ? Any help will be greatly appricated .

If the early police car is a Bbody the rear is narrower than the Ebody.  It is a desirable rear to put in the Ebody to enable larger rear tire use.  The price seems good to me.  Are you sure it is a Dana 60?  I am unsure if a police car came with the Dana.

Im betting its a 9 1/4 in there. And any car dana 60 9 3/4 is 1500 and up. Better make sure it has a snubber and has a 60 stamped on the differential case.  Odds are it wont.

You guys are right .9 1/4 it is if the fact that there is 12 bolts in the back cover means anything . Can't blame me for hopeing .
