Possible New Car Purchase
« on: May 31, 2007 - 07:31:16 AM »
I have been an E-body lover and owner for several years now and am really excited about a possible future project. I am going to look at a '70' Dart Swinger after work tonight that the guy is asking 1400 for. The body appears very straight with some rust around the wheel areas, the glass looks good and the bumpers are straight and still have a nice shine to them. My oldest son is 13 now and I expect in a few years will be wanting a car of his own and this would be the perfect opportunity for us to do some father/son bonding or should I say bondoing. With a slant six and a few thousand pounds of steel surrounding him this could be a great first car for him. Can someone tell me some good sites such as this one for the Dart owners out there? I was just so excited I wanted to tell someone, thanks    :jumping:

Well, here it is folks and boy am I excited. The quarters and front fenders will need some serious attention but the rest of the body and chrome/glass are in great shape. Slant six is perfect for my son to start out with but I could definitely see a 440 fitting in there. For now we're going to cover it and park it. I've blown my budget this year on this car and trying to get my Challenger back on the road but you just wait...

:2thumbs: For sure a great deal for ya. I wished I had only had to pay $1400 for my lil 71. But I'm not complaining, she's as solid as the day she rolled off the assembly line, just ask Rev.

Your son will pick up some fine ladies with that sweet lookin A bod.  :roflsmiley: lucky lil pup.  :clapping:   :smilielol:

Good solid first car.  My first car was a 74 Scamp with a 318. My old man said it should have been a /6. :eek4:  It held up well when i wrapped it up in some trees!  I came out unscathed, that is till I got Home.... :faint:

I learned alot from the old man on that car, made me value the almighty dollar as well.
