Mustangs are all noise even with a supercharger, or whatever that Shelby had. You can't crank new cars like you can with ANY old muscle car
I have nothing. go ahead and laugh. but when I get my something, prepare to be awed

Hey young gun, u really dont know what u are  talking about, all noise?? yes they are superchared , and they are fast as hell!!! there are plenty up in my neck of the woods here that are running low 10's at over 130mph. with a few bolton mods. Even my 03 cobra, now running 1090's at 127, again, just bolt on mods,

Yup, there are lots of ways to get to 10 second 1/4s. V6, Straight 6, /6, V8, V10, V12, Rotary, 1L, 2L, Turbo, Twin turbo, supercharged, blown.....the list goes on. It's comments like that from the muscle car crowd that make us all look like dick heads if you ask me. It's like a "Boy Racer" saying: "I spanked a muscle car today - easy as!" when all he did was beat a 4 door Impala with bad suspension and a full load of people.

Leave the petty comments to the kids, any car can be fast. Take a look at Nissan's GT-R. Would beat a huge % of cars here (modified or not) in stock trim. It'd make them look silly, so it should, it has 40 years on us + tonnes of new age tech and less weight. I hate to say it but I'm not one to sugarcoat the truth. I wouldn't buy it but it gets my respect (and those who can appreciate fast cars, no matter the make).  :2cents:

They are definately quick, but what do they run(1/4 mile) in stock form?(Shelby 500 gt)  About the same as my pig.

Tom

I'd love to have a GT-R :droolingbounce:

national record for a bone stock shelby gt 500 is 12.4 seconds in the 1/4 mile. :scared:
not bad for a pig :2thumbs:

I like them too.  Nothing wrong with a ford now and again. :swaying:

But most (magazine)showit running 12.8 at 112-113 or so.  Now put it in the hands of a regular driver and watch what happens. :burnout:  End up just like mine spinning like crazy.  I raced a guy in one at the dragway He ran about .05 quicker than me with a couple more mph.  Oldschools beast runs quite a bit faster than that. Low 10's IIRC or maybe even high 9's?  Sorry if I butchered that OS!

That's good but not too good, an SRT/10 Ram can run a 12.42 @ 115mph completely stock. :naughty:

*trying to make it more like moparts*

What mods should I do to strengthen my 8 3/4 for drag duty

What angle should the paint daubs at be on my dana 60, 32 degrees or 33.875?

(no response needed-this is a joke)
70 Cuda, 7.0L Gen-III Hemi, Viper T56 w/9310 gearset, 3.91's, Megasquirt MS3x v3.57, Innovate wideband, Firm Feel upper arms, torsion bars, springs and strut rods, QA1 DA shocks. I did everything on this car except the fancy paint stuff and I drive it...and I can't seem to stop messing with it....

what a joke this comment is.the only old school cars that can keep up with a shelby gt 500 is an old school car that is done up with much more horse power than it had stock.common guys,if you drive this car like i did you will realize how quik they are.
national stock record is 12.4 seconds bone stock in the 1/4 mile.
maybe those punks had a shelby gt and you thought it was a shelby gt 500,big difference in power and price.
just my  :2cents: worth.

I Know it was a Shelby Gt 500 because it was parked in the same cruise-in lot I was in just moments earlier..   :grinyes:    GT 500 or Standard GT, both are insane for testing a 9 second car.....lol    :burnout:  It wouldn't have made any difference, do the math.  National record 12.4 car -versus- high 9 second street Hemi Cuda.  The GT 500 comes up a little short.  It was a plain old butt kicking that was perpetrated by the kids in the Ferd.  I know of several 9 second cars in my area alone, but I can't think of any that will do it all motor, on pump gas.  I am not trying to come across as one of those pompous a$$es that think my car is the baddest in the land.  I know better than that.  But it was more than enough that night......     :burnout:     :ylsuper:    :cooldancing:
