WANTED: Driver Challenger w/small block up to $20,000
« on: June 02, 2007 - 12:00:17 AM »
I am simply looking for a driver quality Challenger. Must have small block (318, 340, 360, maybe a 6?) and be console shift automatic. Black interior and Rallye gauges would be nice. Will consider a car that needs paint. Must have good, solid floors, frame and trunk. I am preferring a 72-74 Rallye car, but will consider non-Rallye cars and 70-71 Challengers too. Must be stock looking. No project/parts cars. Please send pics/info/price to dalkris@hotmail.com. Thanks

Looks nice, but not for me. I am in British Columbia, but will consider a car anywhere in North America. Prefer one I can fly in and drive home, but have a transport company lined up too.

Here is a 73 Rallye Challenger listed on www.cowtownmopars.com message boards. Text from the ad is below, no pics:

This car is from California and one of the cleanest E-bodies I have ever seen.  Not a bit of rust anywhere!  It still has its original sheet metal that Ma Mopar gave her new.  The third owner was a Pontiac guy  that didn't have the car very long.  It was the second owner that had the car for 16 yrs. and did the majority of the hard work.  He had the car repainted its original High Impact Top Banana Yellow that's still in good shape.  When I got the car here to Texas I color sanded it and buffed the paint back to its original high gloss. The black viny top is in great shape with only one small chip that is hardly noticeable. I added the hood blackout to give it that Mopar attitude which just sets the yellow paint off.  The interior of the car is as sharp as the exterior. It came with the rallye dash with those awesome 150 mph gauges and tach set up. The seats, headliner and carpet are brand new. The dash has 3 small minor cracks - I will include a brand new dash cap with the car. I detailed the total clean undercarriage with Por-15 so it would always stay rust free and clean. The engine compartment has been detailed with all new mopar hoses, spark plug wires and sparkplugs. The engine, according to second owner, has been gone thru and has a hotter cam with a little lope which sounds awesome. The motor is a 1970 340 which is not the original, but for Hi Performance use is better than the 73 motor it came with. All the hipo stuff that the 70 came with - exhaust, intake maniforld, big valve heads, bigger pistons is still there.  I did replace fuel system from the Holley carb to fuel lines and it has a brand new Holley hiflow fuel pump and brand new gas tank.  This car does have the rallye package that includes front and rear heavy duty sway bars, front power disc brakes, 15x7 ralley wheels with brand new Firestone Firehawk tires.  The second owner added 3:73 limited slip 8:75 rear end. We've added an electronic Mopar hipo ignition system. Feel free to call (214-500-1523) or e-mail (borenps@aol.com) with any questions or for pictures.
