440 block casting help....

I am currently selling a 440 block and would like to find out what it originally came in.  The casting number is 3698830 440 7 and is dated 5/12/72.  There is also a stamping on the top that reads J 440 hp and then there are two 8's under that.  Any ideas, or where I could find the answer?

Those numbers won't tell you what it came in, just that it is a 72 casting that went into a 73 vehicle.

Check to see if it has a VIN stamped on it. If it doesn't it's a replacement block and it didn't come in anything originally.

You can find the last six digits of the VIN on the machined pad, lower passenger side of the block by the oil pan rail
