loading up every mornining

Ok, so i put on the original Carter back on my 383 thinking that would solve some of my problems and it did, but every morning before i can drive i have to rev it up 5-6 times to clean it out and i fill the street with black smoke. any ideas on why it loads up like this after sitting overnight?

Toss the carb,  go demon.....I have run demons for a few years...never had a bad one, and they are pretty close right outa the box

After 6 months of trying to get a Demon to work (numerous calls to tech support, FBO, you name it I tried it) I tossed it and got an Edelbrock. I'd never buy another one for a street car. 
Stick with your Carter, have it rebuilt. Could be an internal issue or a choke adjustment.

something is up with your choke setup, when it starts first thing in the morning, it sounds like the choke plate doesn't open up like it should once the engine starts. Is this a stock carb with no mods? Can you post a picture of the carb?

it was just rebuilt and the choke was just adjusted, we are thinking that it might be something else ?? timing?

it is a stock carter AVS 4734S. it was rebuilt to stock specs. when i check the choke it seems to be working how it should. i will post pics of it tomorrow.

Sounds like the choke is staying closed. There should be some mechanism that opens the choke just a smidge upon cold start up...on my TQ its a vacuum diaphragm...You could be leaking a little fuel overnight if the needle-valves?!? are not sealing off but I would think that it might be hard to start(flooded) if that were the case.

starts right up but idles like i have the lopiest cam in the world and then it is really slow to rev up until i hit about 4K and then it clears out, no more smoke, until i let off and then it does it again till the  car warms up

Hmm, I'm not familiar with your carb, but it sure sounds like the choke is slow to pull off.

It sounds like the choke vacuum pull off is not set right.(the brass looking piece in the picture) it should have a metal linkage hooked to it to pull the choke open a little when the engine starts.

If it moves in when you start it ,then the diaphragm is fine,just might need to adjust the linkage going to it.
