Night at the drags
« on: June 03, 2007 - 01:08:49 PM »
I went to the drags with the Nostalgia Top Fuel car at Southwestern International raceway in Tucson last weekend.
Always fun to play around with nitro but no 6 second passes for us this time.  We keep breaking the keyways off the front of the cam so it's time to reengineer that part of the motor.

On the last run one of the water jacket passages let go and sent a 20 foot flame into the air.

The only other Nitro car there was a really cool 'CUDA Nostalgia funny car.  They were looking good but only lying down 17 second passes like we were.

Sorry for the crappy pics

Here are a couple of that 'CUDA and the last one is of the Dragster at Bakersfield.

(l like that pic because of the position of the throttle blades)

I meant 17  :misbehaving:

This was just a practice for us.  Lots of R&D going on at this point and getting down the track is not the priority right now.  Just trying to iron out the bugs of running a Blown Nitro Pontiac motor....

The Bakersfield event was for real but right now we are just fooling around. That 'CUDA was a hoot but they were just working on stuff too
