    SRT-4 Neon blowed up!

    Right in front of me, I thought I was going to die!  It happened today at the end of the show.  Typical burnout, but the guy was redlining, back tires locked up.  4 people in the car, mods to car= bad news!  As you can see, the clutch mustve been slipping, heated up, and boom, there went the flywheel. 

    Yikes!

    When did this happen? We left at 2:00 PM and they were out on the frontage road doing burnouts. When we pulled up to the driveway there was a huge cloud of smoke in the air. By the way it was great to meet you and your family members. Hope to see you there next year also!

    How did the flywheel end up shooting out the front of the bonnet?  :dunno:
    I thought it would have go through the cowl or out the drivers side inner fender....

    Anyhow, luckily everyone kept their ankles and limbs.
    Thrashed cars + weak parts = call 911

    Mopars in the Park, Shokapee MN at raceway park. There was a full house on saturday even with the crappy weather. Not many came back Sunday. I'm thinking most of the locals stayed home Sunday and keeped their cars in the garage.

    Yep, good to meet you too Ken!  Its fun to put a name to a face.   :lol:

    Ken, it was at about quarter to three or so.  I was leaning on the fence next to the road and bam!  Right in front of me about 20 feet. 

    Dave, no, I didnt know the guy.  He seemed to take the whole thing pretty well though. 

    That's a for sale sign in the window.  If I had the cash, I would have made him an offer right there, other people were.  He wouldve taken almost anything to get out of there, lol.  That would have been the deal of the century.  Oh well, someday I'll own one.
