Hello From Texas
« on: June 04, 2007 - 07:48:06 PM »
Hello.  I just learned about this website from a fellow Mopurist, and think it's great.  I can't believe I have never come across this before.  My wife and I live in the Dallas area, and have owned our 73 Challenger since 1989 (It was actually my wife's daily driver in high school).  I made the wise move of marrying into a Mopar family.  Our car started out as a plain jane canary yellow 360 automatic.  It received its current hemi orange paint job and a nice 340 about 13 years ago.  The 340 just didn't seem like enough so last year we put in a 70 440-6 pack, and swapped out the 727 for a 4 speed pistol grip.  The paint's starting to wear a bit thin and some rust is starting to show through on the quarters, so this year we'll get the body redone.  I love being pretty much the only Mopar at most of the local shows.  I think it's great when people actually have to ask what it is because they haven't seen one before.

MOPAR OR NO CAR!! :working:

Thanks a lot for all the warm welcomes.  She's a great joy to cruise around in, and yes, she does plant you back pretty good.  One of thses days I'll have to pick up a set of slicks and see what she'll really do.

I just finished reading the 9 page string from Rev about having to sell the 70 RT SE.  It's nice to see how much everyone sticks together.  I just wish I lived closer to Carlisle, but I pretty much always end up working on some shutdown jobs that fall during the same time.  One of these years.

Welcome aboard!  Glad you read Rev's pages about selling their car and got a feel for how people are on this site.  If you want to hang out with other local Mopar people and don't mind coming over the Fort Worth, check out the Cowtown Moparclub.  Next meeting is on the 17th at Billy Bob's.  Great bunch of guys - just like here
