 :clueless: I'm looking for a hemi serpentine system where the air conditioning is under the alternator.  There are a couple of nice systems out there but none that really match what I'm looking for.  Some of the vendors I've looked at are March, Tru Trac, magnum force and various other companies that only vaguely reference Chrysler.  I’m looking at a 426 engine built to around 500 hp.  Some of the systems are quite impressive and expensive.   My intent is to kind of hide the air conditioning so the focus is on the engine.  I’m moving from a small block to a big block so buying the system seems to make the most sense at this time.  Could those of you who have been this route please offer me some suggestions.  Thanks.  ???

 :thumbsup: That is what I'm looking for.  They don't sell a kit though. All the pulleys and brackets I have are for a small block.  I'm trying to do this the symplist way possible.  I'll have to see how much buying all their pulleys and brackets will set me back.  Thanks.  This is a good start.  Anyone else have a good suggestion like this?

I don't know what you're talking about they don't sell a kit.   Why do you need a kit?  They sell everything you need.  Just buy the brackets and pulleys you need.  A lot of times w/kits, they sell you stuff you do NOT need.

BTW, the other alternative (besides the $$$ Tru-trac), albeit still spendy, is the March setup that is a serpentine setup with an under ac alternator:

I like the March setup but it appears in the picture like the AC is on top.   :clueless:

WHy does that matter?

AC crammed below makes it a bit more difficult to route the AC lines.

The only system like that, that I have seen on a Hemi, was on Joe Rogan's Sick Fish Cuda.  Troy did a complete custom job on it though.

The reason I wanted to have the AC under the alternator is that the focus in the engine compartment stayed on the engine instead of focusing on the AC compressor.  Whatever system I buy I was hoping to keep it under $2K if possible.  Maybe that is a pipe dream but we will see.  Right now the bouchillon and March systems are looking in the range of what I want to spend.  I have to admit the tru-trac and Billet Specialties systems look very nice.

I don't recommend the March system.  I have experience with that hemi set up and it has several items that weren't explained prior to purchasing it for a customer:

1.  Uses a GM alternator

2.  Requires the use of an electric fuel pump since the alternator tucks very far under the a/c unit.

 :bigsmile: I was aware of the fuel pump problem but wasn't aware of GM Alternator issue.  Do they supply some special connector to make that work?  I was talking to a friend about getting a higher power alternator and he mentioned you don't want too high an amp running through the wires because they were not designed for that level.  The result would probably result in melted wires and blown fuses.  So I'm a little confused why they'd switch in a GM alternator.  Although I've read several posts were people have that kind of setup.  What are the weaknesses with the GM alternator? :clueless:

I went with the March system.  My engine builder said that would work well with the two carbs going on the engine.  Plus I'm change the fuel line from 5/16 and going to 1/2 feed.  We will add a fuel regulator and return lines.  Yes I did get a 1/2 sending unit and I'm aware of the tight space the fuel lines run through.
