Not a show car, but it runs and drives.

$5000 seems high, for a amatuer restoration, needs seat covers, white interior, comes with a parts shell, and some parts.

So I need to decide by this weekend whether a driver BS real 72 Cuda 340(hp, but not the first engine) with a bad paint job and needing some work is worth $5000. I figure I can sell the parts shell and extra parts for something, probably a better deal than the $8000 other local Cuda that needs even more work. The pics make it look like an old lady car, any thoughts guys?

I'd go for the one with the more solid foundation (body, etc). That's where your biggest future expenses will occur.

Man, that $4000.00 or $5000.00 car sounds like a heck of a good place to start, especially if there is no major rust.  Cudas are getting increasingly hard to find at all, much less in a bargain.  Good luck.   Ovmf

I've been kicking myself all week. The guy did not have the title, we were going to get together on Sunday, because we were both busy over thanksgiving. I was much too busy with family and my cell phone died Sunday. Thought we had a deal but someone offered $500 more and by the time I caught him Monday I had lost out. I am happy for the seller and my wife did not want me to get another car anyway, so it was not meant to be. I have avoided this site this week because I didn't follow my own advice and act quick. I feel STUPID but the flip side is I have 3 Chargers and no time anyway. I also have the feeling that someone I know spilled the beans on the car, I told one person I was going to look at a car and they figured it out and they let it out, car was not advertised.  Sorry guys, it got away.

Awww man.. that really sux... there have been several "I wish I had jumped on those" deals... ::) the current one I'm looking at right now for my dad is a '70 'Cuda... not going to say where it is, or what the price is, but the only thing majorly wrong is that it's not a numbers matching engine... ;)

I kept tabs on this one for years. I guess stories of the ones that got away go right along with cudas eh? I find something better usually comes along. I'll be patient for another Cuda. With three kids of my own I'm seriously thinking of one of the new hemi Durangos. Something the whole family can enjoy. Gotta get used to that low front end, new design is all that new agreement to make SUV bumpers lower. We all fit in my Charger for shows but that Cuda would be tight. For the next year I'm probably going to also be carsitting my best friend's 340 Challenger so I'll drive an e-body occasionally. Good luck with that 70.

:(  jd 115, sorry you missed out on that cuda, but it happens like that sometimes. You mentioned 3 Chargers that you have, have you posted any info or pics of them here ( "other Mopars....") ? I haven't been on the site too much lately, I would like to see them. Especially if you're considering selling any of them, I have a 70 500 SE 4 speed Charger, all matching nubers, etc. and I'm still dreaming about a 68 R/T??????

OK, Cheer me up, here is my 68 RT, it's not numbers matching but it's a keeper. I have had around 10 Chargers, but a couple have been clone cars done by others. I'll post pics of some of those if you promise not to rip me too much.  ;D

:D Sweet lookin R/T man, is it for sale???  And hey, there is absolutly nothing wrong with a cloned car, to me they equate to an adopted child, you love them enough to make them you own,and what you couldn't have to begin with..... right?!

Thanks LB for the compliment on my Charger, but that sweetie will never leave my "stable" as long as I'm breathing, "till death do us part", lol!
