Repo Trim Pieces
« on: June 07, 2007 - 01:12:51 PM »
Does anyone have any experience with repo trim pieces? The ones that I have been finding are from Metro Parts, which is the same company that is selling the repo antennas. I was able to look at trunk, quarter, and hood trim pieces at the Nats last year but have forgot about the quality and that didn't include hanging them on a car. If I remember correctly they didn't seem very shinny, would you have to get them polished and anodized to match your other restored trim. Furthermore how is the fit of them.

Thanks

If you have had the other pieces polished, you'll heve to polish the new a little more to have the same sheen. As far as fit, the hood and trunk lid usually fit very nicely. The qtr trim is a little of and takes some adjusting to look straight. If I remember right the repos are a little shorter in length on the qtrs.

If the repros are stainless you don't have to have them anodized, just polished. Anodizing is for aluminum.

I bought the deck lid trim for my 71 Challenger from Metro.I haven't tried to put them on yet but I think they look good.I bought the 3 piece set so matching isn't a problem.
I bought wheel lip molding for my 72 Road Runner from them also. They also looked great but the holes didn't line up.

Pretty sure they are aluminum. The wheel lip moldings are too soft to be stainless.

I have the reops on the back of my Challenger. They fit great and I think they are way better than the old dinged up ones.
