Thanks guys, I'm kind of in shock at the moment
I'll need to cut down on living expenses (
NOT Beer) but I think it was well worth it. Just to confirm so there is
no confusion, the car will be getting stripped back. We'll bag and tag the parts and paint it triple black. Its a GB5 car but that paint isn't the correct shade. I'm buying black interior pieces from legendary, my Keisler kit is at the wharf and will ship with the car and I'm in the middle of talking to someone who has a flat hood for the 'Cuda (which if all goes well) will also ship with the car.
MoparAl: Thanks for the idea but I already have a spare set of Rallyes (15x7 & 15x8") and the car will be getting Cop rims, 275/60 on 15x10" rear and 245/60 on 15x7" front which I purchased for Lucy some years back, ready to go. I'm just trying to think of any other large items I'll need so I can ship them with the car so shipping is free. I know I'm going to need a Dana but I'm going to take my time on that so I order the right one from the right supplier, also disc brakes from SSBC, but again, I'll take my time and order the right set up for my needs.
The car is almost too nice to strip back but as you should know by now she'll be treated right and given the best available to her. The next time you see her she'll be a Triple Black 71 Hemi 'Cuda car that for the most part (90%) will appear stock but with a few modern upgrades. Can't wait to get started and with a 100% complete car, grille and all we have the perfect platform to work off, straight and no rust will see us save money and time on body work, a BIG bonus! A few other bonuses are that Dad will get the restored 8-3/4" from it with the same gears as the car had which are perfect for him (3.23), it also has the vinyl top moldings and Gull Wing installed ready to go!
